Accepting My Limits

Today I realize that sometime in the past year or more I have finally learned how to say no with no guilt!  I like being a very giving person, but I also know I have limits.  I'm grateful to have matured enough to accept that having limits is normal and good, and that my particular limits often go hand-in-hand with my gifts.  It's true that there are times when I can be selfish, in a completely self-centered way; I don't condone this and yet I accept that is part of who I am as well.  It's another indicator that I am not God! ;)  And how wondrous it is that God's Love is Perfect and unconditional and eternal.  Praise be Jesus Christ forever and ever.  Amen!

Retired Another Blog

I decided to retire my blog "Musings: Lauds and Laments."  If I want to start a new blog someday re Lauds it will be about Praying the Liturgy of the Hours.  Also, before retiring that blog, I moved one of the posts to 2009 because it was really too personal (i.e. honest!) to leave in a blog that I could one day re-open to the public!  So glad this is possible in blogger blogs.

It's Snowing!

For a few days we've had a brief respite from winter weather, but today it began snowing again; yippee!  The flakes were big and fluffy; you could see their details as they floated through the air.  Mostly they were melting as they landed on surfaces, but now, three hours later, the snow is accumulating ever-so delicately on tree-branches, deck-railings, and corn-stubble.  I love snow! :)

Pope Resigning

Pope Benedict XVI announced this morning that he is resigning from the Chair of Saint Peter effective February 28th, 2013.  This announcement came as a surprise to most of the world, and a shock to many of us.  However, he had announced earlier in his papacy that he would consider resignation if he felt his age or health was not permitting his to fulfill his responsibilities.  He was 78 when he became Pope and he has served for 7 or 8 years.

Thank You Lord, for Popes who lead Your Church faithfully in accordance w/ Your Will.  Please guide Your Church in the election of our next Pope, that we may be a faithful witness to You and a Light to the world.

Glory be to the Father
and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
As it was in the beginning
is now
and ever shall be
world w/out end.
Amen!
